nu:legal research is the research arm of Nulegal GmbH, a legal-tech company in Potsdam. We build legal software for companies — and along the way we built gesetze.nulegal.eu: every German federal statute and more than 487,000+ court decisions, searchable, linked, and free.

A corpus like that raises questions worth answering in public: how good is legal retrieval, really? Which published results survive contact with German case law? What does the citation network of German courts actually look like? This site is where we publish those answers — with the code and data to check them.
